BandWidth Meter

Description

I decided to create this, as originally asked at the ahhh.. 'Launch Party' ? the other night (Which I thought Nomade was doing, tsk tsk ) even though Liru, I know you mentioned it to Shy the other day, I just want to relay my findings.

Upon testing some ARC figures (and that is subject for another issue submission) I noticed the BW meters, across 4 avatars on different viewers in the same region at the same time. All roughly facing same direction, with DD etc set close enough as follows:

FireStorm 477 = 40 Kb/s (Likely Wrong)
Official SL 4.0.5 = 40 Kb/s (Likely Wrong)
Singularity 6863 = 400kb/s (Likely Correct)
Singularity 6157 = 40 kb/s (Likely Wrong)

I have checked Sing Alpha 6863 against 6157 (this behavior changed somewhere between those two) in Windows Network Monitor, and the BW is quite similar, so it's a cosmetic thing.

It would seem that the later Singularities are the only viewers who have this right?

Kbps = Kilobits per second (Binary)
kbps - Kilobits per second (decimal)

KBps = Kilobytes per second (binary)
kBps = Kilobytes per second (decimal)

So, as you can see the problem is probably in the terminology, They're labelling it as Kbps when it should be KBps or kBps ..

Small b = bits
Capital B = Bytes

So I am thinking those other 2 viewers and the old Singularity have/had it wrong.

The New singularity Has fixed this by recalculating it to match, whether by 1000 (decimal) or 1024 (binary)
